Interview with Bobby Rush on MPB

On June 14th, we had a chance to kick off the tour of Mississippi with an interview on Jackson, Mississippi’s own MPB for the Next Stop Mississippi show. Not only was the legendary Bobby Rush in the house to celebrate Black Music Month, but he also gives some great insight into what the day-to-day life of a Blues musician in Mississippi entails.

It was such an honour to be able to be part of such an interview and to be able to talk about Super Chikan and our film before the screening at the Two Mississippi’s Museums on Sunday June 16th.

A great big thanks to the show’s hosts, Germaine Flood and Kamel King, for the opportunity to talk about our documentary, but to also re-connect with Bobby Rush, who makes an appearance in our film!

Have a listen to the episode below.
